Pain
I finally got internet service restored after at least three days of arguing. Rural living is relatively inexpensive, and quite beautiful except when humanity decides to be human. Living in the middle of nowhere not being able to drive, complicates life. It’s been said maybe a digital detox is good.
Theoretically, yes, digital detox is good, It feels a little different when it is forced not chosen. The internet is my connection to the outside world. These past three days have been isolating. Making matters worse is explaining all this to a company who doesn’t seem to give a darn. To have employees laugh at your plight. Not having pride in your work, or just general respect for another human being. I don’t know what we’re lacking in America, but we are lacking something so basic and fundamental.
I had to miss church waiting on help. It came hours later. Service is restored. As I was watching church today, a pastor said something that has me rethinking how I look at my life. He said: ‘All frustration is borne out of unmet expectation,’. One sentence is upending me.
What is God that my frustration is to teach me? About you? About me?
I’m so tired of giving my medical history to try to get humanity to care. I hope you able-bodied people never have to know the pain of having to ask for help, and it being denied or delayed. And I’m not just talking about internet connectivity.
Hello! I'm sending you a great big hug from Harvest Lane Cottage in southern Missouri. That sentence is quite a thought provoking one. I used to live in a big city, then a small city, and now a small (to me) town. I know there are smaller ones.
ReplyDeleteMay God bring you peace as you ponder that statement about expectation. Jesus is always ready to meet us. Holy Spirit is always ready to lead us and teach us.
HUUUUGGGG!

Oh dear, that sounds awful my dear friend. It is rather disgusting behavior and those 'help' people need more training on how to be decent human beings. Shame on them, and hopefully one day they will see the light. Sending love and a big hug xoxo
ReplyDelete...being digitally connected becoming an important part of life.
ReplyDeleteIt's is important to be connected. Though a digital detox is good! I think companies are all the same over the world. Same here in Scotland people just don't care about customers anymore :-(
ReplyDeleteSending you a big hug. It seems things used to be different. Looking back, I think so.
ReplyDeleteI can not imagine what you have had to go through. Today everything and everyone is so reliant almost dependant on internet that functioning is almost impossible. And customer service is a sham.. no one cares. Good to hear service has been restored.
ReplyDeletemay God bless you
ReplyDeleteIt is important to be connected.
ReplyDeleteIt's wrong, but so often customer service is not as it should be.
All the best Jan
Sending you a big hug. I'm glad your service has been restored. The Internet has become a lifeline to many. My late father, who was a disabled Army Air Corp veteran (TBI), had to undergo many cruelties in his post military life due to the seizures he experienced for the rest of his life. It is sickening that we've only come so far in our understanding that those of us not able bodied still deserve respect. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your troubles- the physical ones and the non physical ones. I have always been active physically though I was knocked down when I tore my Achilles tendon. It is amazing how quickly we can go from literally running to... stopped altogether. My dad lost all muscle before he died so he was in a wheelchair before he was bedridden. It was hard for him especially as he'd always been an active and strong man before his disease. My brother was in a wheelchair for part of his childhood due to a terrible disease. I don't know why some have movement their whole lives while others don't. Sending hugs and hoping that the internet last for a long time without disruption!
